Very helpful tips. Very friendly and encouraging, too. I definitely agree with Planetweb about interaction. It is a true gauge of how one writer affects his readers. This way, mutual relationships grow into good writer-reader discourse. Thanks for sharing this.

You have listed some very useful tips. I especially like the section on niche blogging, and how you have to write about something that matches your writing ability and experience. If one doesn't really have a passion for what they are writing for and is knowledgeable then it will come through.

One more thing I would add to this list is interaction. It is important to interact with your readers. So this may involve responding to their posts or always posing a question at the end of a a post to encourage comments.

I do agree with the first tip, which is to write based on our expertise. I try to do that on my blog, write something that has been my every day job, not sure if the result is good, but always try to be better.

@Sire: True, in niche blogging you need OR the experience or knowledge to blog about it, or you need to be able to blog about your trip to knowledge. For instance, blog about learning to ski or something alike. It will attract a different public, but both can work I believe.

In regards to niche blogging I think it's necessary that you know a lot about your niche otherwise you will get lost in the hundreds of others who have the same niche. If you do choose a popular niche then be prepared to outdo your competitors, by writing better easily understood articles, perhaps writing more often, and more importantly by interacting with your commentators.
