Do you want more visitors on your website? Do you need more incoming links? Gain some quality traffic? And be honest, who doesn’t, right? Here we have for you 6 easy steps to increase your incoming links, your number of visitors,
and even your Google Rankings in the end:
Step 1: Make sure you have plenty, high quality (means interesting for your visitors), unique (written yourself, not copied) content on your blog
Step 2: Write a few articles about your topic, and post them on article directories such as ezinearticles.com and such. This will create links towards your blog
Step 3: Write articles that answer peoples questions about the topic on answers pages like answerbag, wiki answers or yahoo answers. Then answer their questions on those websites.
Step 4: Submit your website to directories such as dmoz.org and plenty of others
Step 5: Find other blogs about the same topic, and comment on their articles, make sure your comment adds something usefull, not just saying something like “great blog”. Put a link to your blog in your comment.
Step 6: submit your blog to sites like mybloglog.com and blogcatalog.com and get a good community of friends there.

This is a great article! I’ve never done much commenting on other peoples’ blogs, but after reading this I’ll certainly be paying more attention to it. BTW, thanks for visiting my site. The comments and encouragement are very much appreciated.
those are great tips, i think content is the key, i think eventually it will be the most important, so now would be a good time to pile it up.
Nice tips you have mention here but we can add some more tips here like – posting on forums, check backlinks of your competitors and approached them for link exchange.
@Bingo, thanks for the added tips!
yeah very nice tips, i’d like to add that content is king as long as you get some visibility to your site or else your content will be useless.
Thanks for the useful information. Let me try all the 6steps. Thanks again!

I am wanting to know some of the things about how and what you have used to make your site and just some general questions about this starting up phase. This is not something that i am just seeing if i can get to work or something i know i can do this and it is now one of my main goals to start up. I just need someone to point me in the right direction in a few areas, I am full of ideas i just need the how to basics on getting them started in motion. Thanks for the great info always looking for anything to increase the views on my site.
Good steps for getting more links and traffic to the site. I am already using directory and article submission. They are indeed very helpful. But here I got one new step and that is #3. Quite imressive. I’ll try for it. Thanks for sharing the great step.
Great blog.

Just kidding. It was really helpful though.
Thanks, these are great ideas. Most of them, I already have in place. But #3 and #6 could use some work. I have my blogs in MyBlogLog and Blog Catalog but I am probably not active enough in those communities. And I had never thought of using answerbag or wiki-answers.

linda´s last blog ..How To Do Domain Registration At Yahoo
@Linda: That depends… a new page in a known blog, or a totally new blog? You can create an account at http://www.google.com/webmaster and submit your site there to get it indexed faster. New pages/posts are generally indexed in a few hours if your blog is known to google, and you have an average/good rating.
what u’ve said is completely true. i was just redirected from A yahoo answers link to this info, i hope u give more simple tips as this one!
Yes writing and submitting articles is one of the best long lasting ways to drive traffic to your blog.
But it is very important that your articles and your blog posts have interesting and informative content.
It is vitally important to use attention grabbing headlines to capture at least a look from browsing eyeballs.

This is coming from someone that has wanted to learn how to do this for years, but haven’t been able to understand the concept of some things like you do- but also being able to explain them. Thank you very much.
Thanks you for sharing good information about best way for link exchange. I think Reciprocal link exchange, comments on blogs, & press release are the best way to get back links.

hey,
great tips:), thanks.
to generate traffic, you can also use forums, email marketing, you can use sites like stumble upon, and social networking sites like myspace facebook…etc
you can make a video on youtube talking about a certain topic and include your link.
about getting links (link building)
for example if you are writing about health
make a list of top 25 articles about health, with links to other websites, most likely you will get links back from some of those websites, ex : http://traffictoyourweb.blogspot.com/2009/09/best-15-articles-about-blogwebsite.html
take care

@Lilo: thanks for the great addition to the article
I am following your steps which you are telling.
Step 4 seems like to be the hardest step. I have just tried to register in dmoz.org. But no results.
. Maybe my site isn’t good enough to be registered in that directory. I confused about this directory. Someone said that if dmoz didn’t accept your site, you wouldn’t be accepted anymore. Is it true?
And one thing I really confuse now is what’s about free submit directory? When you submit in free submit directory, they say you have to put their link on your site so you will have a backlink. Is this true?
.
I’m newbie. I have built website first time. So I don’t have so much experience in this.
Sorry, maybe my english is not good
All4Tech´s last blog ..Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 9.0.0.710 Beta+Trial Reset
@All4Tech: DMOZ is indeed very hard to get into, but I’d say, keep on working on the others, and try resubmitting to dmoz every once in a while. As for the free directories, yes, some do require you to put a backlink up. You can do this or not. Reciprocal links (two sites linking to eachother) have lower value than one-way links, but no link has a lower value than a reciprocal link
Great Blog I like the traffic tips. Sometimes I find its hard to hit all the things as I run out of time, but sometimes I focus one night to commenting on others blogs, then other nights I will focus on yahoo answers. Just mix it up and traffic will slowly build.

@admin
Posting genuine comments on blogs is also an another way to get back links but Google find out solutions for this also and added rel=”nofollow”
@SEO Mumbai: True, but they are still beneficial. As said in the DoFollow article, Google DOES follow NoFollow links, but rates them differently. And, every link is still a link, if it doesn’t count for Google’s PR, it still can bring you traffic, and every single new visitor, is a possible linkspreader. At least, that is my idea about NoFollow.
I will start to put this into effect. Great information and I will use it.

FTN´s last blog ..STICKY : FTN is moving foward into 2010
@FTN great to hear that they were of help to you!
Nice post, but I’d heard these things hundreds times already, and it seems like everyone is doing all of these methods nowadays… and if everyone is doing it, then it’s also the same everyone doesn’t do anything. (Did you get my point?). I mean if all the site owners are doing all of these “SEO methods” then the results will still be the same the lowest will still be the lowest and the highest will still be the highest…
Now the question is, since these methods are very common and easy to do. Is there something that only a few bloggers can do to surpass competitors who can’t do “it”?

Tom | Build That List´s last blog ..Squeeze Page Tips For Better Conversion
Thanks for the comment Tom, and indeed, the Do-follow comments bring in alot of extra comments
i think eman has a good point. Everyone is doing seo therefore it the net result zero! Also the no follow movement seems to be faltering – I too get fed up clearing out 20 or so comments relating to drugs and ciggies from my blog every day….
Not sure if the net result is 0, there is still a matter of just doing it, doing it well, and doing it great! But, to a certain extent, I do believe you’re right, SEO isn’t king anymore, I believe content is King. Not like it was before, but content for your visitors, write for your readers, they make or break you in the end.
As for the dofollow comments, I have about 500 times more spam on one of my other blogs, which is no-follow, and has about 10x less readers than this blog, which is do-follow.
