One of the most asked questions by people who are looking to start with Adsense, or have just started out with Adsense, are the money questions: What are the Google Adsense payout rates? How much will I earn?
I tried to bundle and answer a few of these questions, hoping that these will give you some insights in what the possibilities of Google Adsense are.

How much does Google Adsense pay you per month?
Your monthly income from Google Adsense depends on your earnings. Typically, Google will pay you the amount you earned the month before (so on april 31, they will pay what I earned during march). With this limitation, that they only payout if you earned over 100 USD. If you earned over 100USD, you will receive the full amount you earned. If you earned less than 100USD, you will receive nothing that month, but it will accumulate the next month, untill you earned 100USD.

How much can I earn with Google Adsense?
[ad]The sky is the limit. Really! If you have a great, very high traffic blog, and you have your Adsense tuned well, you can earn a 5 figure amount each month! However, this does mean you need to put alot of work in your website. You cannot just buy a domainname, install wordpress, copy some articles from ezarticles.com on it, and sit back and wait for visitors to roll in, while you’re watching babes and sipping cocktails. It doesn’t really work that way, you need to earn your visitors, you need to work to get them to your website, and you need to work to keep them coming back to it.

What is the Google Adsense payout rate?
How much of a click’s publisher cost goes to adsense, and how much to me? Well, nobody knows. This depends on numerous things, one of them being the score you have as an Adsense publisher. This score depends on your CTR and nr of visitors and such, and is part of the calculation. Nobody knows exactly how this score is calculated.

How much can I earn per day on Google Adsense?
Hard to say… But, to give you an average idea: per 100 unique visitors on your website, you can count on 0.5 to 1$ a day. How much it is exactly is impossible to say. It depends on numerous factors such as the topic of your website, the keywords you are targeting at, how well your websites is targetted at those keywords, how well you implemented your Adsense ads, how Adsense-blind your public is, the language your website is in, and so on and so on. But, if you feel your adsense earnings are too small, I suggest you take a good look at these posts: Top 5 Ways To Increase Your Adsense Earnings and Adsense Math: Add Add Add.

How much does a click earn me on Google Adsense?

One single click can earn you anywhere between 0.01 and over 1.50$. How much you will actually earn depends on the keywords you are targetting. Some topics, and thus, keywords, will earn you a whole lot more than others. And, in the same topic, targetting a spefic keyword (or keywordcombination), can make a huge difference in earnings per click. For instance, if you take a look at mesothelioma for instance, you can find that mesothelioma pays you, as an example, 1$ per click. However, the combination mesothelioma attorney will pay you 1.20$, and mesothelioma lawyer can even pay you 1.50$!

I’m using adsense to make money on my blog, but I’m also trying my luck in affiliate marketing, it seems though it really works out well. Although I still have to learn more about increasing your CTR rate.

I’ve got a blog which is starting to recieve some traffic and use adsense but I can’t seem to get many clicks…perhaps I just need to play around with the position and style of the ads

In order to have your visitors click more on your ads, the best thing to do is indeed play with the position and style of the ads. But, do keep in mind, that some topics lend themselves more, or less, to receive clicks.

Thanks for the information. I have found that when I use a combination of keywords in my posts that are targeted to the contents rather than “stuffing” the post with keywords, I get better results. I have also gained quite a bit of valuable information from google webmaster tools. This really is a must have resource. WordPress has many good plugins for optimization. all-in-one seo pack is a good optimizer.

@Denigris: Both are true! Stuffing your pages with keywords will only get you worse results. Best is to create a text that is targeted to a human public, not to webspiders. And second: all-in-one-seo pack is simply great!

Say I did make my own website/Blog.

Say I have a below average traffic at first(doesn’t matter).

But what would happen if no one clicks the AD that Google puts out. What would I do? How can one solve that problem?

    Thanks.

There are a few things that can cause your website not to be accepted by Google. This can be the lack of content, the quality or uniqueness of the content, the character of the content (sexual, pornografic, drugsrelated, violent, …), or, it is said that the age of the domain matters too. It used to be so that your domain had to be at least 6 months old (preferrably with content). However, it appeared that some sites of only several days or even hours old were sometimes accepted for Adsense. So it may be that your site is rejected because of this. One last thing is that your site needs at least a few incoming links, and a few daily visitors.
If your site has all this, and complies to the general terms of adsense, you can try to submit again.

Hey Michael, I looked at your site, and must say I don’t see anything wrong with it at first impression. You may want to remove the adbrite ads when trying Adsense again, and perhaps get some more backlinks and more visitors. Did Google give you a reason why they didn’t accept you?

Great article. I have been debating whether or not to add adsense ads to my website. I have heard that some people do quite well with them although from my experience I haven’t seen much in terms of a profit. I am probably doing it wrong. But I like the stat of 0.5 to $1 per 100 uniques. That definitely gives me a better gauge to play with. Thanks for taking the time to blog about it :) .

I’m by no means an expert on Adsense in fact I have only played around with it on an old site I no longer use.
One thing that I find interesting is PCM ads i.e. ads that pay for the impression rather than the click through. Would it not be a good idea to target these type of ads using specific key word combinations. I realise that these ads don’t pay as much but if you are getting paid every time they displayed it’s a start. Usually these ads are used by non-commercial organizations.
I’m sorry if I am swamping you will comments but I live in the middle of Thailand, I haven’t seen another foreigner for about 3 months.

I think the advertisers are more and more stepping away from the Pay Per Impression type of ads, since publishers can easily place these ads somewhere down and below on the page, buy a package of 10.000 visitors for $5 (;-) I learned it, thanks), and earn alot due to the PCM principle. Google’s Adsense is even more and more working towards a system where only valuable (so not only valid, also valuable) clicks are paid to the publisher.
And no worries about the swamping, I hope I can make your day more pleasant this way :-)

Combined with incoming links: yes. Great content is worthless if no one is able to find it :-) But yeah, I also still believe that content is king.
