first of all, thanks for visiting my blog, I hope you enjoyed it, and most of all learned from it, and I hope to see you again quite often ;-)
As for your website, I took a look at it, and immediately noticed some things: the text portion is way too narrow I believe. This makes your posts go aaaaaall the way down the screen, making it seem incredibly long. This will scare of lots of visitors already. Second thing is, your adsense ads. There are three blocks of ads, all three underneath eachother, all three different in colorscheme, all three quite different colorschemes from the page itself. I would replace these three adblocks with one single block, prefferably of the skyscraper type. Then use a second block of ads inside your posts, make this a square one. Make sure the colors of the ads match that of your website, making the background and the border of the ads the same color as your website's background, so that they blend in. Maybe also ad some text-ads, but best is not to overdo it. Especially since you still have to get your readership together.
Now, you say you do not have alot of visitors yet. Do you do something to track your visitors? Do you use Google Analytics? If you don't, then start doing so asap. This will allow you to see where your visitors come from, and what they do. This is without any doubt the most valuable piece of info you can get about your website! For instance, it will show you where your visitors come from. This will allow you to put some extra effort in these channels. It will also tell you how long your visitors stayed on your blog, and how many pages they looked at. It will tell you the bouncerate, meaning how many visitors left almost immediately after hitting your site. This most definately is important to know, and I think you may have a problem there too, due to the 3 adsense blocks. They make the page look rather unprofessional, and about earning money, not about giving information to your readers.
As for the topic of your website, it doesn't really matter what it is about, as long as you love writing about it, and are knowledgeable enough for the level you are writing about. For instance, if you love taking pictures, you can start a photography blog, but don't try to target pro photographers if you are actually a novice. Each blog has its target audience. Find yours, and write for them. And, I think that is the best tip of all: write for your audience, not for you, nor for the money or the traffic, do it for your audience, and the rest will follow.

Thanks for the good advice. Can you take a look at my site, and tell me what I am doing wrong? I don't have any traffic, I am new at this. Your site is so cool. I had black template prior to the one I am currently using.. I am thinking of changing subjects to current events, that would give me more to write about. Basically, beside writitng, I have no idea what to do to improve the site. I do enjoy blogging, however, I eventually would like to earn an income with this. I feel limited in the layout. I did widen the layout but, it just got wider with no additional space for more content. Help, Chacha
