Quite often I get the question if it is really true that you can earn money via the Adsense program, and if so, if you can get rich with it, or at least do “fairly well financially”, as some publishers claim.
As Google prohibits publishing your adsense earnings, there is no real way to check if they are telling the truth or not.Besides that, the term “fairly well financially” is rather relative. “fairly well financially” for a 5 member family in Switserland is alot more money then “fairly well financially” for a teenage boy still living with mom and dad in Paragay, to just make an example.However, I can tell you that you can indeed make money from your blog using adsense. And it may be alot, or it may be a little, but if you earn say, 200$ a month for just writing your blog, you earned a nice little extra doing just what you like. So, why not give it a try?Do keep in mind that adsense is NO “get rich overnight” program. It requires effort and time. Don’t be discouraged if your earnings are still only 20$ a month after 3 months. Thanks for debunking the “get rich quick” BS that’s out there. (It was one of those ads that started me on the info searching path that led me to iCan’tInternet.) Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It’s very helpful information. Can you give me a sense of the level of effort that is required to get to the rewards you mention (US$20/mo initially, rising to $200/mo.)? I understand you can’t provide an accurate estimate because of all the variables, but a sense of it (even if it’s only an order of magnitude) would be really helpful.

I agree, Google Adsense is no get rich quick scheme.
Making money on Google takes one thing mainly. That is traffic. At the moment Google does not offer a huge CPM. Cost per thousand if you do not know.
I’m currently below $2. How much, I can’t tell you obviously. But it more than $0. But it isnot consistent. I have it go as low as $0.07 CPM. My CTR (Click Through Rate is 0.55%. which is above average for Adsense.
So to earn $200 per month I would have to have 100 000 ad impressions per month. Say I have 5 ads on my blog. THen I would have to have 20 000 page views per month.
To some that is easily achieved. TO others it is not.
Just something to put it into perspective.

@Robert Bravery: Those are two truths in your comment: For adsense you need traffic, and it is not a consistent income. But both are things you can work on, and that’s a good thing.

Ive only today just created my own blog at http://takeyourdreams.blogspot.com/ its not good at all at the moment but im sure it will improve in time. Its hard thinking on what content to put on i think. But i see you have no problem with that lol.
